DIY Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are small gifts to show gratitude for your guests for making efforts and sacrificing their time to be with you on the celebration of your wedding.  Wedding favors also being use as decorations to enhance the appearance of wedding reception tables. 

Among the popular ones are candles party favors,  soaps favors, picture frames and place card holders. There are hundreds variety of unique wedding favors these days, anything you see from kitchen utensils to  wine accessories you  can package it and call it a “wedding favors”.  Of course, not everyone have the time and talent to design pretty packaging box , especially when you have a wedding to plan.  For those who are creative enough and would like to save some money, it something worth trying.

Here are some tips of creating inexpensive wedding favors:

1.  Sachet – Pick  your favorite scents such as cammomille, lavender or rosebud.  Cut a piece of fabric in square shape then put the potpourri on the fabric and wrap it, Tie the fabric with ribbon , then cut the pointy shapes of the fabric on top and making it a round shape.   Shopping tips: SF Herb Co. has great prices for herbs, oil and potpourri.

2.  DIY Soaps - Soaps are inexpensive and easy to make. Invite your girlfriends to your place and make it together, this could be a fun activity.  What you need is scented oil, soap mold and glycerines which you can buy at a craft store in your area.  If you have a beach wedding find seashells mold, for elegant wedding  opt for something simple such as a heart shape or a round. 

3.  Monogrammed Soaps - Buy some small scented soaps from a store, then wrap it with pastel color scrap papers and put a monogram sticker on. .. and Voila! You’ve created your own monogrammed soaps.

4.  Kitchen-inspired Favors- There are many favors ideas you can find in the kitchen such as a whisk , cookie cutter, mug or a tea strainer.  Pick any items you want and attach a personalized tag with nice ribbons on it.  You can get the personalized tags online or make it yourself using your home printer.  Shopping tips: IKEA has some great prices on mugs and other kitchen products.

5, Candies - Buy mini organza bags, mini tin pails or ready-made favor boxes and fill it with almond candies.  This is one of the easiest favors to make.
