Tips on Selecting Wedding Favors

July 30, 2008

Selecting wedding party favors for wedding can be time consuming if you don’t plan it well.  These are few Tips that can help you save time and money:

1. First you should already know the theme of your wedding. If you don’t really have a theme , select 1-2 colors you will be using for wedding decorations.

2. Once you decide on your theme, decide on what type of favors are you looking for?  Practical Favors? Candle Favors? Soap Favors? or Vegas Themed Wedding Favors?

3. Set up a budget how much you’d willing to spend for each favors. Keep in mind that wedding favors is a gesture to say ”Thank you” to your guests, it need not to be expensive.  Decide on a reasonable budget based on what you are willing to pay and can afford. Typical costs for wedding favors are usually $1-$2.

4. Now that you’ve set up your requirement, it’s time to start shopping around.  Remember, the goal of this tips is to save you time and money on finding the perfect party favors for you so you’ll stay in focus. For example : You have a Vegas themed wedding, you’re looking for a candle favors and your budget is $1.20 each.  When you’land on a wedding store site, look for category “Vegas Themed Weddings” or “Candle Wedding Favors” or “Favors under $2“.

5. Always order some extra favors for emergencies.  Your parents might invite someone at a last minute or few guests who said they weren’t able to show up might suddenly decide to attend your wedding.  You have to be ready with this kind of surprises so it’s good to have backups.

6. Try not to procastinate. Most wedding favors usually takes 1-3 business days to process plus delivery time based on your location.  As with any purchases , there are common problems that might happen if you procastinate: The favors of your dream might be out of stock by the time you wanted to place the order, or you got your package a day before the wedding and discovered that you’re missing some items, or the shipping carrier has some delayed on delivery due to bad weather.  It’s better to be save than sorry, try to order your favors the least by one month before your wedding.

Good Luck!

The best place to start is to consider the theme of the party.  Your bridal shower favor ideas can blend in with this theme, and it will give you a good place to start getting ideas from.  The best gifts also keep the bride firmly in mind.  For example, if the bride is fun loving and likes her candy, you could create a table where every place setting contains a cocktail glass filled with jelly beans or a similar type of candy that the bride loves.

Bridal shower favor ideas fall into two general groups.  The first group is made up of fun and frivolous items or items that can be used up on the night.  The second group contains items that are made to last, such as key chains or personalised notepads.

Bridal shower favors need not be extravagant or costly. Simple party favors are welcome and desired – it’s the thought that counts. Do some shopping at the Dollar Store for some fun, unusual gifts. Scented candles are always a welcome favor; nearly everyone appreciates the value of aromatherapy. Be careful; guests who are allergic to scents or particularly sensitive may not appreciate a bridal shower favor that is scented.

If this is the kind of thing you want to have it can often be cheaper to put them together yourself, and it also adds a personal touch to the proceedings. Don’t forget that if you are buying your favors elsewhere you may be able to take advantage of discounts for bulk orders.

Another great bridal shower favor idea is a picture frame with a monogram card.  Write a personal note on every guest’s card and tell them how much you appreciated their coming to the shower.

Want something more fun? Cupcakes make delicious and beautiful bridal shower favors. Buy cupcake from cupcakery or make your own and decorate it in the color scheme of the wedding. You can find colorful toppers to put on the top of your cupcakes to reflect your bridal shower theme, or get a little bride and groom to top each cupcake, just like on a real wedding cake.
